AFTER AN ELECTIONVisit Elections Schedules to assist in determining the dates to search for in our Results Database. The Results Database* can be searched to obtain current election night returns, and official elections returns back to 1987. See Help Page for more information. Results by parish and precinct are now available for statewide elections. First get the statewide results, and then click Parish Results and then Precinct Results links. NOTE: Any vote totals showing for an election prior to the day of the election are a result of testing our electronic vote gathering apparatus. All test vote totals will be zeroed out before election day. Any vote totals and percentages shown prior to the polls closing on election day are meaningless.[Database will be off-line on Thursday mornings from 2 to 6 AM.] * Some Internet broswers behind firewalls may require opening Port 8090 to the domain "sos.louisiana.gov" in order to access the Elections Results Database. See Help Page for more information. The Archived Elections Results Page contains a link to a list of many ZIP files for past elections results in DBF format going back to 1990. Recent elections are included. Voter Turnout statistics in Adobe PDF format are also available. See FILE TYPES for information about ZIP and DBF file types. The Statistics Page contains a variety of election statistics of voter participation in a several formats. Visit the U. S. National Archives and Records Administration / Federal Register web site to learn how the votes are cast by the Electoral College for Presidential Elections. View a list of all Louisiana electors in the November 2000 Presidential Election and for the November 2004 Presidential Election. The Secretary of State issues commissions to all elected and appointed public officials in the state. The commission is the official document that empowers the officeholder to perform official duties. A registry of all commissions is maintained. "The Louisiana Roster of Officials" book lists all elected and appointed officeholders and is available from the Publications Division. For detailed information about commissions, visit the Commissions Division page. The Statewide Elected Officials Database includes Statewide & Multi-Parish Elected Officials, All Elected Officials in a Parish, and All Elected Officials in an Office (i.e. All Sheriffs). The Elected Officials ZIP File lists all elected public officials. The Louisiana Boards and Commission Database is maintained by the Assistant Secretary of the Senate. Search for a board or commission or by member name; get complete list of all boards and commissions. |
