ELECTIONS COMPLIANCE UNIT (ECU) 

The Elections Compliance Unit (ECU) was created within the Department of State by Act 517 of the 2004 Legislative Session to:

• initiate independent inquiries and investigations into allegations of election irregularities in any municipality or parish of the state of Louisiana;
  
• to respond to notifications or complaints of election irregularities generated by election officials or other persons; and
  
• to review notices and reports of election irregularities and conduct investigations of any incidents that it determines require further investigation.

ELECTIONS FRAUD HOTLINE

Complaints of election irregularities, including voter fraud and abuse, vote buying and threats to disrupt or inhibit the election process can be reported to the Elections Compliance Unit at   (800) 722-5305  or  (225) 342-4479.
