VOTING IN AN ELECTIONWhere to Vote Locator - If you do not know your ward and precinct numbers, use the Where to Vote Locator by typing your street address and city. Redistricting has changed some voter districts for local and statewide elections and the locator is also useful to check current district information based upon the residence address of your voter registration. Sample Ballot Database - Use this tool to search for and print a sample ballot for the next scheduled election. Visit these pages for detailed information about absentee voting and provisions for nursing home residents and handicapped or disabled voters.
Visit Elections Schedules to assist in determining the dates to search for in our Candidates Database. CANDIDATES The Candidate Database includes the names, addresses and party affiliations of persons who have qualified for or withdrawn from upcoming elections, or who ran for office in previous elections (to 1987). It also includes propositions and amendments. This database does not include vote totals. [NOTE: Database will be off-line on Thursday mornings from 3 to 5 AM.] ZIP FILES OF ALL CANDIDATES ZIP Files of All Candidates are dBase III compatible files and contain the names of all candidates for an election. The files are compressed using the ZIP format and are named using the mm/dd/yy format. For example, Cand100403.zip, contains data for the October 4, 2003 election. See FILE TYPES for information about ZIP and DBF file types. The List of Voting Machine Types has the various type of machines used in the state listed for each parish. |
