3 Music Legends Inducted into Hall of Fame
The second annual
Delta Music Museum Festival was held on Saturday, April 5, 2003 in
downtown Ferriday. Michael Twitty and Band performed a "Tribute to Conway
Twitty" as part of the day long celebration. Michael's father, the late great
country music star, Conway Twitty,
was inducted into the Delta Music Museum Hall of Fame at a special induction
ceremony. The legendary Jimmie Davis,
Louisiana's late governor who was also a prolific songwriter and recording
artist was also inducted into the Hall of Fame as well, along with
Aaron Neville, the world famous recording star and Grammy winner from
New Orleans, who was on hand to participate in the ceremonies.
Ferriday's own Easy Eddie and the Partyrockers had two
appearances scheduled -- one during the day, and another at the evening Street
Dance from 8 PM to midnight. Other festival entertainers included Cuz &
Company and Lil' Poochie.
The
Louisiana Music Cavalcade visited the festival at 1 PM with a host of
Louisiana musical talent. The festival had numerous Arts and Crafts booths and
