This new permanent exhibition traces the movement from 1803-1932 of the various state houses that have been the seat of Louisiana government — New Orleans, Donaldsonville, Baton Rouge, Opelousas and Shreveport. The political, cultural and social import of each location is addressed. Emphasis is placed on the Old State Capitol and its unique political, historical and architectural legacy.
