• TUTANKHAMUN: Wonderful Things from the Pharaoh's Tomb ran from July 1, 2001 to December 31, 2001.
• Don Edwards: A Look at Nature art exhibition opened August 2001
• "The Artistry of African Currencies" opened on May 5th, 2001, from the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art
• "Southern Africa, 1936-1949:   Photographs by Constance Stuart Larrabee" also opened on May 5th, 2001, from the Smithsonian National Museum of African Art.
• "The Long Years: Huey P. Long and Earl K. Long" was an educational exhibition featuring one of the most colorful and dynamic families to control Louisiana politics during the past century. The exhibit included photographs taken at Huey P. Long's campaign speeches, at his inauguration as governor, and at his funeral. Also on display were posters and billboards from Earl K. Long's campaigns for governor of Louisiana and United States senator. The exhibit opned on February 4, 2001.
• NORWELA Boy Scout Council: Celebrating 75 Years of Service
• Toy Tools: Circa 1950
• "A Vivid Splash of Color", an exhibition of 43 works by internationally recognized artist M. Douglas Walton went on view at the Louisiana State Exhibit Museum on Sunday, May 28, 2000 and closed on July 26th.
• The Russian Dinosaur Exhibition
  from the Paleontological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences closed on December 31, 1999.
