FACES OLD AND NEW
Paintings by Representative Ernest Baylor
February 2 -- 28, 2003
The Louisiana State Exhibit Museum will host "Faces Old And New,
Paintings by Representative Ernest Baylor", an exhibit of 25 works by Baylor which will begin with a reception from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 2, 2003. The reception is free and open to the public.
State Representative Baylor's talent was evident in his early years at 81st Street Elementary School and became an
important part of his life in the years to come. His greatest desire
was to become an artist.
Representative Baylor realized the difficulty of making a living in the art field and chose other means to support his family. However, art remains an important part of his life and today he creates portraits of people familiar to him. Baylor's works in charcoal, ebony pencil, or pastel are in such demand that prices for a single portrait range very high.
Don't miss this outstanding exhibition of art by a very talented member of our community.
